Ex-Microsoft, Meta exec Raghu Malpani joins UiPath as CTO
Enterprise automation and artificial intelligence (AI) software company UiPath appointed technology veteran Raghu Malpani as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) on Thursday.
Malpani, a former Microsoft and Meta executive, will report directly to Daniel Dines, the Chief Innovation Officer and Executive Chairman of UiPath. In his new role, Malpani will lead the company's engineering teams, bringing with him a wealth of experience in managing large distribution systems and supporting product delivery.
Before joining UiPath, Malpani served as Corporate Vice President for Microsoft 365 Application and Data Platform, overseeing global teams responsible for managing Microsoft Exchange Core, the copilot semantic index platform, and Microsoft Graph. With over 15 years of experience at Microsoft, he held various leadership positions, including General Manager across multiple Microsoft Azure cloud offerings. Additionally, he led the global Decisions Platform team at Meta, focusing on building experimentation, personalisation, and market intelligence platforms across all product areas at Facebook.
Dines praised Malpani's leadership skills, stating, "Raghu is a people and customer-focused engineering leader who has led best-in-class products and teams. At UiPath, he will direct and focus our engineering priorities, working across functions within the company to deliver leading enterprise automation and AI software for end-to-end business processes."

Malpani, a graduate of the National Institute of Technology in Karnataka, India, brings a rich technological background and leadership credentials to UiPath, making him a valuable asset as the company continues to revolutionise the enterprise automation and AI software landscape.
UiPath also announced the launch of two new data centres in Pune and Chennai on 24 April as part of its global expansion efforts. With cloud regions in India, the United States, Europe, Canada, Japan, Singapore, and Australia, the new data centres will enhance UiPath Automation Cloud services for customers and partners in the Indian market.
