TCS achieves AWS GenAI Competency Partner status
India’s largest information technology services company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced on Friday that it has achieved the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Generative AI (GenAI) Competency as a launch partner. The Indian IT major also announced that it has trained over 350,000 employees in generative AI.
That said, the company now reports that more than half of its workforce has undergone this training. In an official statement, TCS stated, "With over 350,000 employees trained in foundational GenAI skills, TCS is well-positioned to build one of the largest AI-ready workforces globally."
This unique specialization from AWS further strengthens TCS' position as a leading transformation partner for customers in the AI domain, it said.
According to a company statement, TCS is among the first Global System Integrator Partners to achieve the AWS GenAI competency, awarded to partners with extensive knowledge and technical expertise in utilizing AWS technologies and best practices for generative AI adoption. These AWS Partners enable seamless integration and deployment of AWS-based solutions to meet the diverse needs of customers, from startups to global enterprises.
The competency recognizes TCS for its role in assisting customers and the AWS Partner Network (APN) in advancing services, tools, and infrastructure crucial for implementing GenAI technologies like Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Sagemaker Jumpstart, Amazon Q, and Amazon CodeWhisperer.
In 2023, TCS became the first technology company to establish a dedicated business unit for AI and cloud. The AI.Cloud unit addresses the increasing customer demand for cloud and AI adoption, helping enterprises redesign customer journeys, increase productivity, and improve operational performance for better business outcomes.
The company has already started using GenAI to enhance customer experiences in the airline industry by facilitating natural conversations during flight delays or cancellations and suggesting alternative travel routes. Additionally, the company has leveraged GenAI to streamline and simplify contract review processes, including clause identification and verification.
Notably, another press release, TCS confirmed that it has begun fresher hiring, bringing huge relief to engineering graduates as several IT firms froze recruitments due to a slump in demand.
