Infosys partners with German media firm

German media company for business and financial news — Handelsblatt Media Group — has selected IT services firm Infosys as its artificial intelligence (AI) and digital innovation partner. Under this collaboration, Infosys will work with Handelsblatt Research Institute (HRI) in the first year of the partnership. HRI, which is the independent economic research institute under the group, will leverage Infosys’ AI set of services Topaz to make complex reports on global economic and financial topics more accessible and consumable for the public.

Tech Mahindra to merge two subsidiaries

Tech Mahindra has unveiled plans to merge two of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Born Group and Tech Mahindra (Americas). The objective behind this strategic move is reportedly to harmonise business operations, enhance cost efficiency and mitigate compliance risks, the company said in a regulatory filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). The appointed date of merger is April 1. The merger will not impact the shareholding pattern of Tech Mahindra, as it is not a part of the merger, the company said.

Databricks launches new model

Analytics and AI company Databricks launched a general purpose open source large language model. Called DBRX allows enterprises to build, train, and serve their custom LLM in a cost effective manner. Databricks also claims that their model outperforms OpenAI GPT 3.5 on several benchmarks. 

Last week, Databricks announced the launch and availability of Databricks infrastructure on Google Cloud’s India (Mumbai) region to support the growing customer base. The California-headquartered company also said that it has registered 80% annualised growth in the last two years for India region, driven by the demand for AI capabilities across Indian enterprises.

Minfy’s partnership with AWS

Cloud-native systems integrator company Minfy announced a strategic collaboration agreement with AWS. Under this multi-year agreement, Minfy’s digital solutions in sectors like healthcare, logistics, and manufacturing will allow customers to transition their workloads to AWS. Minfy plans to expand in the US, Australia, and Southeast Asian countries like Malaysia and the Philippines with AWS by strengthening go-to-market plans, hiring local talent, and building relevant solutions.

HPE adds new LLM functionality 

Hewlett Packard Enterprise has expanded its AIOps network management capabilities by integrating multiple large language models within its cloud-native network management solution Aruba Networking Central. This update is expected to offer better pre-processing and guardrails to improve user experience and operational efficienct. The new GenAI LLM functionality will complement existing machine learning (ML)-based AI throughout HPE Networking Central to provide deeper insights, better analytics, and more proactive capabilities.
