Wipro appoints Capco’s new CEO
IT services company Wipro has announced the appointment of Anne-Marie Rowland as Capco’s chief executive officer (CEO), effective April 1. She is being elevated from managing partner of Capco’s business in the United Kingdom and Ireland. To be sure, Capco, a financial services management consultancy, was acquired by Wipro in 2021.
Rowland takes over this role from Lance Levy who will now transition to a strategic advisor role to both Capco and Wipro’s overall consulting strategy. Rowland will report to Wipro’s CEO Thierry Delaporte and will become a member of Wipro’s Executive Committee (WEC).
Rowland has been working with Capco for close to 15 years and served in different roles including global head of Capco’s Consulting and Transformation practice, Global Client Partner for several large financial institutions, and executive sponsor of Women@Capco.
“Our clients’ needs are changing at pace as they look to meet the challenges and opportunities presented by emerging technology and evolving business landscapes. Together, Capco and Wipro are a winning combination that delivers the deep expertise, focus and scale required to ensure our clients’ future success,” said Rowland.
This week, Simmi Dhamija quit the post of chief operating officer for Wipro’s Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (APMEA) market. Appointed in November 2022, Dhamija said in a LinkedIn post that she will now be taking up the role of founding member of a stealth startup. Dhamija has over two decades of experience and has held important leadership roles including that of Tech Mahindra’s chief transformation officer.
