Cloud data management firm Informatica has teamed up with India-based commerce-to-insights tech company Pharmarack to enhance the country's healthcare network. Pharmarack, which has over 250,000 chemists and 12,000 distributors in its network, will leverage Informatica's intelligent Master Data Management (MDM) on Amazon Web Services to digitise the pharma ecosystem in India.

Pharmarack is tackling the challenge of inconsistent data in the pharmaceutical industry's value chain. By using Informatica's intelligent MDM, they aim to standardise and improve data quality across more than 300,000 product listings, benefitting chemists, stockists, and pharmaceutical companies.

Arundhati Kshirsagar, Chief Data & Analytics Officer at Pharmarack said, "With Informatica, we can be assured of a high-quality, consistent master data catalog democratized across all levels and throughout the entire value chain, empowering small and medium business users and reducing time-to-market. This helps address the issue of spurious medicines and ensures the availability of quality medicines to consumers throughout the country," Kshirsagar added.

Informatica's solution will help in merging over 12,000 unique catalogs, offering small and medium businesses in India a catalog quality comparable to big e-commerce players. This streamlined approach is expected to benefit over a million chemists and stockists, improving the availability of medicines, reducing expiry issues, and enhancing efficiency in the Indian pharmaceutical value chain.

Steven Seah, Informatica Managing Director for ASEAN, India, and Korea, expressed satisfaction in partnering with Pharmarack to address catalog challenges. The collaboration leverages Informatica's AI-driven platform to ensure consistent, accurate data, providing users with a 360-degree view of trusted data and contributing to the growth of India's healthcare ecosystem.
