L&T Technology collaborates with Intel to develop Edge-AI solutions
IT service provider L&T Technology Services (LTTS) has joined hands with Intel Corporation to develop Edge-AI solutions catering to various applications, notably Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything (CV2X) applications.
The collaboration leverages Intel's Edge Platform, integrating its AI runtime with OpenVINO inference for real-time AI inferencing optimisation. This integration equips LTTS to facilitate on-premises and hybrid AI scenarios for traffic management and emergency safety in smart cities and transportation. These scenarios require advanced networking and AI analytics at the edge, meeting demands for low latency, locality, and cost-effectiveness.
Intel’s Edge Platform represents a commercial software platform revolutionising the development, deployment, and management of distributed edge infrastructure and applications. It offers a comprehensive ecosystem with modular building blocks and premium service and support offerings, serving as an all-in-one solution for developers' edge computing needs, the company said.
“LTTS is delighted to collaborate with Intel on the launch of their new Edge Platform, which promises to democratise access to edge-AI solutions. By running seamlessly on standard hardware and featuring built-in edge-native AI runtime powered by OpenVINO for inferencing, this platform embodies innovation and efficiency,” said, Abhishek Sinha, Chief Operating Officer and Board Member at LTTS.
Pallavi Mahajan, Intel Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Network and Edge Group Software said, “Industries like transportation and smart cities will be benefited from technologies that expedite the design and implementation of vehicle-to-vehicle transportation, road safety, accident prevention, and enhanced mobility. The collaboration with LTTS on Intel’s Edge Platform will simplify the exchange of critical information and streamline infrastructure management to improve results and lower TCO for customers.”
Additionally, LTTS last month announced a partnership with BlackBerry, focusing on leveraging BlackBerry QNX suite of automotive software solutions to develop innovative Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs) for global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). LTTS' expertise in engineering domains and software facilitates the creation of next-generation vehicles tailored for safety and security.
