LTIMindtree joins IBM Quantum Network for quantum technology innovation

IT services company LTIMindtree has joined IBM Quantum Network for innovation in quantum computing technology to serve global clientele across multiple industries. It is a community of Fortune 500 companies, academic institutions, startups and national research labs working with IBM in the quantum technology space. LTIMindtree will also be collaborating with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras – an  IBM Quantum Innovation Center – on joint quantum research and workforce development.

“IBM's Quantum Network client, which includes the IBM Quantum Innovation Center at IIT Madras and startup member BosonQ Psi from India, is exploring practical applications in finance and chemistry, aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, biotech, and other areas of interest,”  Venkat Subramaniam, IBM Quantum Lead at IBM Research India said in an earlier interview with TechCircle.

As the first Indian Global System Integrator (GSI) to join the IBM Quantum Network, LTIMindtree will have access to IBM resources, including IBM’s global fleet of quantum computing systems over the cloud, software, and associated expertise.

“We are excited to welcome LTIMindtree into the IBM Quantum Network and to help them explore the benefits of quantum computing, both for their internal teams and in solutions for their clients. We are also looking forward to providing technology support for LTIMindtree’s joint research and educational engagements with IIT-Madras, our first IBM Quantum Innovation Center in India,” said Scott Crowder, Vice President of IBM Quantum Adoption and Business Development.

LTIMindtree now plans to establish a series of long-term projects such as applied research toward business and societal problems, quantum computing workshops, and research grants – through such collaboration. It also wants to foster quantum computing talent and research, the company said in a statement.
