Wipro expands partnership with Intel Foundry to boost AI chip innovation
IT service provider Wipro announced an expanded partnership with Intel Foundry on Wednesday to boost chip design innovation. As a key Design Services and Alliance Partner, Wipro will work closely with Intel Foundry to accelerate the development of Intel’s advanced process nodes, including the Intel18A process node.
This collaboration aims to meet the growing demand for AI chip manufacturing. Wipro's design services, combined with Intel Foundry's manufacturing expertise, will empower clients in industries like automotive, industrial, and telecommunications to utilise Gen AI-driven designs and foundry services for continuous innovation, the company said.

Wipro's $1 billion investment in the ai360 ecosystem, coupled with the collaboration on AI-driven chip manufacturing with Intel, will assist businesses in achieving their growth objectives. The user-friendly adoption process of Intel Foundry, combined with Wipro's IP expertise, will enhance time-to-market and offer significant benefits in design verification and physical design for clients, as per the company.
In a separate announcement, Wipro introduced the Wipro Enterprise Artificial Intelligence (AI)-Ready Platform. This new service enables clients to create fully integrated and customised AI environments at the enterprise level.
Leveraging IBM Watsonx AI and data platform, including watsonx.ai, watsonx.data, and watsonx.governance, the platform delivers interoperable services to accelerate AI adoption. The suite of capabilities includes tools, large language models (LLMs), streamlined processes, robust governance, and sets the foundation for future industry analytic solutions on watsonx.data and AI.
