“Our partnership with VTU is a stepping stone towards creating an innovation centre that brings out the potential of the youth. This collaboration will not only enhance technical capabilities in young students but will also make them industry-ready. We are optimistic that through the programme, SSIR will foster innovation and instill an entrepreneurial mindset amongst aspiring engineers,” said Balajee Sowrirajan, Corporate EVP & MD, Samsung Semiconductor India Research.

In February 2023, Samsung partnered with the Karnataka government to offer skill training in artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT) to more than a thousand students and teachers in the state. This collaboration between Samsung Semiconductor India Research (SSIR) and the department of collegiate and technical education (Karnataka government) was expected to benefit 37 polytechnic colleges in 30 districts of the state.

Later in October last year, SSIR collaborated with Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, to establish a Quantum Technology Lab.
