Spotlight: CXO movements this week (Feb 10 — Feb 16)
The week (February 10-16) was buzzing with several CXO movements in the tech industry with some of the major appointments in key business positions. IT firms like Prodapt and Sophos made important new appointments, while non-tech firms like Ujjivan Small Finance Bank and Fortis Healthcare also recruited senior executives in technology roles. Prodapt appoints former Tech Mahindra exec Manish Vyas as Executive Director
Indian IT services provider Prodapt announced the appointment of former Tech Mahindra executive Manish Vyas to the Board as executive director. Vyas, who joins Prodapt after a 23-year-plus tenure at Tech Mahindra, will guide the leadership team to drive strategic initiatives. Vyas quit Tech Mahindra on November 17 last year. With a comprehensive background spanning IT, business process, network services, systems integration, consulting, and large deal outsourcing, Vyas brings a wealth of experience to the role. With degrees from prestigious institutions like Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies and RCOEM in India, Vyas also completed executive education programs at Harvard Business School, MIT, and Yale University. Sophos' Kris Hagerman steps down as CEO, Joe Levy takes helm
UK-based cybersecurity company Sophos announced that its long-term chief executive, Kris Hagerman, is stepping down from the position and will continue as an advisor until April 1. Joe Levy, a nearly 30-year veteran of cybersecurity, has been appointed as the new president and acting CEO, effective immediately. Levy has been with Sophos since early 2015 and was the president of Sophos Technology Group. He has also been working closely with the channel since the mid-1990s. Hagerman has been the CEO of Sophos since 2012 and led the company through a period of dramatic growth. The company has roughly tripled its revenue during his tenure to over $1 billion and has grown its customer base tremendously. Hagerman also led the successful IPO of Sophos on the London Stock Exchange in 2015 and a successful sale to American private equity firm Thoma Bravo in 2020. (Read more)
Ujjivan Small Finance Bank appoints Mangesh Mahale as CTO
Mangesh Mahale has joined Ujjivan Small Finance Bank as Chief Technology Officer. His strategic focus revolves around driving IT strategy, fostering business excellence, and elevating customer experiences. With extensive experience in delivering digital transformation solutions, he specialises in overseeing end-to-end IT Infrastructure and Cloud Operations, particularly in the realm of Private Cloud. Before this, he was with organizations like the State Bank of India, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Union Bank of India, and National Stock Exchange Clearing Limited. His academic credentials include an engineering qualification from V.J.T.I. Mumbai and a Diploma in Electronics & Radio Engineering from Govt. Polytechnic, Aurangabad.
Bipin Kumar Chaudhary joins Fortis Healthcare as CIO
Bipin Kumar Chaudhary has joined Fortis Healthcare as Chief Information Officer. Before this, he was Sr. Vice President & Head of Technology at Pramerica Life Insurance. Earlier, he was associated with Cinepolis Corporativo, Allianz Partners, Radiocity 91.1, and Multiple Zones India. Chaudhary will be responsible for spearheading Fortis Healthcare’s IT initiatives, driving digital transformation efforts, and ensuring the seamless integration of technology to enhance patient care delivery and operational efficiency. Chaudhary holds a B. Tech degree, an MBA, and has completed a Certification Course in Management from Harvard Business Publication. His academic background coupled with his hands-on experience makes him a valuable addition to the leadership team at Fortis Healthcare.
Devinder Singh joins as Head – IT Infrastructure and SecOps at Policybazaar
Devinder Singh joins PolicyBazaar as Head of IT Infrastructure and SecOps, contributing his experience in managing the organization's security operations and IT infrastructure. Singh's appointment positions him to further expand Policybazaar's position in the digital marketplace, ensure strong cybersecurity measures to protect customer data, and drive innovation and efficiency in the company's IT operations. Before this, he was Head – IT & Infrastructure at Sinch India. Earlier he was associated with Amazon, Toyota Financial Services India, ORIX Auto Infrastructure Services, Convergys and Microland.
