Tata Elxsi opens new design and engineering centre in Pune
Technology services provider Tata Elxsi, on Tuesday, announced the inauguration of new Global Design and Engineering centre in Pune. Located at Sukhwani Business Hub, Chinchwad, this centre will cater to the technology and digital transformation needs of key automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier 1 suppliers.
The centre will have over 1,000 engineers, designers, and technology specialists. It has advanced labs for carrying out initiatives in engineering research and development (R&D) across software defined vehicles, connected services, autonomous technologies, electrification, mechatronics, and design.
With this centre, Tata Elxsi also expanding its presence in the fast emerging technology hotspot Pune. “Pune has always been a key talent hub for automotive technologies and manufacturing. The centre further diversifies and deepens our talent base to support the growth of our automotive business and underscores our commitment to the automotive sector and our key customers in propelling the technology transformation in software, design, and digital,” said Manoj Raghavan, managing director and chief executive officer, Tata Elxsi.
Further, Tata Motor’s President and chief technology officer, Rajendra Petkar, who inaugurated the facility said the centre’s proximity to auto manufacturer’s own facility in Pune will foster ‘high levels of collaboration’. To be sure, Tata Elxsi has been a strategic partner for Tata Motors for over two decades, having collaborated across programs in connected vehicles, digital, AUTOSAR, ADAS, electrification, mechanical design, and engineering amongst others.
For Q3FY24, Tata Elxsi reported a 6% year-on-year increase in net profits. The revenue of the company increased from ₹914.2 crore from ₹817.7 crore during the same period last fiscal year, registering a 11% growth.
