Acko appoints Mallesh Bommanahal as its new Chief Data Scientist

Acko, the insurance provider, has appointed Mallesh Bommanahal as its new Chief Data Scientist to spearhead the company's data science initiatives and harness artificial intelligence (AI) for customer-centric technology development. 

In his new role, Bommanahal will enhance Acko’s capabilities in utilising AI to transform insurance customer experience. His leadership in data science is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the company’s tech-first approach to insurance solutions, the company said. 

Bommanahal brings a wealth of experience, particularly in the insurance and healthcare sectors. He is also the founder of i3systems.ai, known for its innovative AI solutions in insurance underwriting and claims processing, establishing itself as an AI pioneer in India. 

With over 16 years of experience, Bommanahal aims to leverage his expertise to enhance AI technology, focusing on elevating customer experience, refining risk modeling, and streamlining process automations. His strategic vision aligns with Acko's pursuit of innovation and excellence in the direct-to-consumer (D2C) insurance landscape. 

He holds a Doctorate degree in Aerospace Engineering, specialising in mathematical modeling of aircraft and UAVs using experimental data. He has prestigious degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay and founded cutting-edge projects such as student satellite development and advanced toilet-flushing systems.
