Former SAP Labs India COO Mohammed Anzy takes on new role at Guidewire
Mohammed Anzy, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of SAP Labs India, has decided to step down following a successful 17-year tenure with the prominent German software company. As reported by Times of India, Anzy is set to embark on a new chapter in his career by joining Guidewire, a New York Stock Exchange-listed software firm, where he will assume the role of Vice President of Engineering and Managing Director for the company's India operations, effective from January. Guidewire has officially confirmed this significant development.
Anzy's final day at SAP Labs India is scheduled for December 31. Throughout his tenure, he played a pivotal role in overseeing business operations at SAP Labs India's five locations—Bengaluru, Gurugram, Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad—employing over 15,000 individuals. His responsibilities spanned various domains, including development, consulting, strategic management, and entrepreneurship.
As the COO of SAP Labs India, which stands as SAP's largest global Research and Development (R&D) center, Anzy championed initiatives that empowered customers and partners to enhance their businesses through technological advancements and process interventions. His leadership extended to key projects, such as leading SAP's extensive engineering transformation programs like SAP S/4HANA Engineering Transformation.
Anzy's contributions also included serving as the founding director of SAP Startup Studio, the company's inaugural in-house accelerator established in 2016. Under his guidance, 33 startups thrived and grew, with one achieving unicorn status. Additionally, he held significant roles such as Vice President and Head of Engineering for SAP Excise Tax Management, where he oversaw a SaaS-based application used for tracking and tracing tax-relevant goods movements in a warehouse. Moreover, he served as the Director of Strategy and Operations at SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud.
An alumnus of NIT Calicut and IIM Kozhikode, Anzy further showcased his commitment to the tech industry by participating in the Nasscom Product Council from 2019 to 2021. His wealth of experience and leadership will undoubtedly contribute to Guidewire's endeavors as he takes on this new and influential role.
