Wipro, AWS partner to transform life sciences labs

Technology services and consulting company Wipro has teamed up with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to revamp lab processes in the life sciences field.
 
Life science and pharmaceutical labs have long struggled with inefficient processes, leading to increased costs and delays in bringing new products to market. To tackle this, Wipro and AWS are introducing the Lab of the Future, a cloud-based platform that aims to streamline lab operations and boost collaboration. 
 
Philippe Dintrans, Senior Vice President & Global Head of Domain & Consulting at Wipro Consulting, explained, “Our goal with Lab of the Future is to improve lab performance using AI, advanced analytics, and a business-focused approach.” 
 
The life sciences industry faces challenges like reduced ROI for R&D, higher costs for new drugs, and excessive time spent on data management. Wipro and AWS aim to address these challenges with a modern lab solution that could cut costs and speed up the development of essential drugs and products.

The Lab of the Future includes modules such as Lab as a Service, Safety Notifications, Inventory Management, Scientific Information Platform, Biomarker Hub, and E-Lab Notebook. These modules aim to optimise labs, improve safety alerts, manage inventory efficiently, provide quick access to scientific info, enable personalised medicine, and automate lab note documentation.
