Kyndryl, AWS partner to offer mainframe modernisation services
IT infrastructure services provider Kyndryl has expanded its relationship with Amazon Web Services to help customers simplify and accelerate their mainframe modernisation initiatives. As a Premium Tier Services partner, Kyndryl will work with the cloud service provider to integrate mainframe applications and data with AWS technologies and move mainframe workloads to AWS.
Kyndryl now supports the AWS Mainframe Modernisation service to migrate and modernise their on-premises mainframe applications to a cloud-native fully managed runtime environment on AWS. Kyndryl’s mainframe expertise, skills, and capabilities will help customer manage their transformation more efficiently and effectively.

Through this partnership, Kyndryl is launching a suite of new and customised capabilities to automate the provisioning and management of AWS mainframe modernisation environments. It includes Kyndryl Cloud Native Services (KCNS) for mainframe modernisation; Application replatforming/refactoring via integrated DevSecOps; Application refactoring for migration from the mainframe to AWS; Near real-time data replication between the mainframe and AWS.
In August, Kyndryl joined forces with Microsoft for advancing enterprise-level generative AI solutions for businesses using The Microsoft Cloud. This partnership facilitates the creation and implementation of innovative generative AI solutions, addressing various business needs. This initiative will blend Kyndryl's data and AI portfolio with Microsoft's offerings such as 365 Copilot, Azure OpenAI Service, and Fabric.
