HCLTech's chief delivery officer steps down
India’s third largest technology services provider HCL Technologies, in a BSE filing, has announced that its chief delivery officer Apparao VV has resigned from his position. He was heading the Nearshore and New Vistas locations of the company.
The company adopts a nearshore strategy by outsourcing its processes or services to countries on the same continent, sharing a similar time zone with the market it caters to.
In a restructuring bid on October 11, 2022, the company had appointed Apparao as the chief delivery officer. Before that, he was serving as the chief human resources officer (CHRO) since 2017.
His association began with the company way back in 2003 when he joined as the delivery unit head. After three years, Apparao was elevated to vice president and integrated service delivery head, Skandia. Till 2012, Apparao was the executive vice president of HCL Technologies in Bengaluru.
On November 14, HCLTech announced that Sonia Eland will become the Executive Vice President and Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand from April 1, 2024. She'll be based in Sydney and report to Swapan Johri, the President for Growth Markets at HCLTech.
Sonia Eland takes over from Michael Horton, who's been with HCLTech for about 10 years and will be moving to a consulting role. The company credited Horton for playing a big role in making HCLTech a trusted digital tech services partner in Australia and New Zealand.
