Wipro, NVIDIA to boost healthcare sector with Gen AI

Technology services and consulting company Wipro has joined hands with chipmaker NVIDIA to accelerate the adoption of generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) in the healthcare sector. The collaboration aims to implement AI-driven strategies, products, and services, utilising NVIDIA AI Enterprise software. 

According to the company, it will integrate NVIDIA AI Enterprise software into its existing healthcare solutions portfolio, focusing on Affordable Care Act (ACA), Medicare, and Medicaid. The goal is to enhance member experience, boost enrollment, and streamline claims adjudication processes. 

The utilisation of large language models (LLMs) powered by NVIDIA AI Enterprise will facilitate quicker and more accessible consumption, resulting in heightened productivity, in-depth member intelligence, and improved operational efficiencies for healthcare organisations. 

Further the partnership will leverage the NVIDIA AI platform for generative, speech, and translation AI. This includes utilising NVIDIA AI Foundation Models within the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, incorporating technologies such as NVIDIA NeMo and Riva, and the NVIDIA DGX platform. 

Through the integration of these technologies with Wipro’s Enterprise Generative AI (WeGA) framework, the collaboration will enable the co-development and deployment of custom models for speech and translation AI, along with other LLMs. These offerings encompass billing and enrollment solutions, member services with gen AI capabilities, and specialised solutions for improving claims processing and provider data accuracy.

Looking ahead, Wipro plans to continue building NVIDIA-powered solutions to automate the software development lifecycle and accelerate digital and business transformation. The company is establishing an AI Center of Excellence with NVIDIA, where Wipro engineers will undergo extensive training on NVIDIA’s application frameworks, focusing on generative AI, the metaverse, conversational AI, and data analytics. 

Additionally, another IT firm, L&T Technology Services, also forged a partnership with NVIDIA, concentrating on creating software-defined architectures for medical devices, particularly in the field of endoscopy. This collaboration aims to enhance image quality and scalability by leveraging NVIDIA's Holoscan and IGX Orin platforms. The solution offers low-latency data transfer, superior image processing, and scalability for multiple AI-enabled applications.
