L&T Technology partners with Google Cloud for generative AI
Larsen and Toubro Technology Services (LTTS), a provider of engineering research and development (ER&D) services, announced a partnership with Google Cloud to implement generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology in its operations. The collaboration aims to develop LTTS' Developer Experience Platform (DevX), an API-enabled solution for engineering services across industries.
By combining their expertise, LTTS and Google Cloud will optimize test case generation by integrating gen AI into the development code and automating code generation. This will reduce manual efforts and increase development efficiency.
The partnership will also create an expansive API catalogue and redefine how customers interact with LTTS' digital offerings.
LTTS has several objectives for this alliance. Firstly, it aims to position DevX as the go-to platform for engineering solutions among developers globally. Secondly, it seeks to streamline the discovery and implementation of LTTS' solutions and services for end-users, ultimately improving customer satisfaction. The collaboration also aims to enhance developer engagement by creating a "developer playground" experience and extending it with API discovery and accelerators.
The rollout will occur in two phases. In the initial phase, LTTS will focus on select use-cases, including automating the process of generating test cases, expediting unit test case generation, and automating code generation. This phase will streamline the development workflow and boost efficiency.
Abhishek Sinha, Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Board at L&T Technology Services, stated that this partnership propels LTTS closer to its gen AI goals and revolutionizes engineering and digital solutions for multiple industries. With AI-driven innovation at the forefront, the future promises unparalleled possibilities for industries worldwide.
LTTS has already achieved breakthroughs in AI with solutions like Chest-rAi and AiKno for the medical, industrial, and transportation sectors. The LTTS API Hub, developed using Google Cloud's offerings, is helping global customers enhance operational efficiencies and capabilities.
On October 17, LTTS reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 315.4 crore for the July-September period, in line with analysts' estimates.
The company's partnerships with hyperscalers and chip companies are facilitating the development of AI solutions and services tailored to meet the specific requirements of industries such as Automotive, Manufacturing, and Medical.
This strategic investment will further solidify LTTS' position as the preferred engineering partner for global ER&D firms.
