Professional networking platform LinkedIn has showcased a slew of artificial intelligence-based enhancements and features for its premium members. On November 1, the platform announced that it breached the 1 billion user mark and would roll out personalisation features helping a select group of premium subscribers in upskilling, job search, and networking.

“Whether you're navigating career changes, building a business, learning a new skill or crafting your voice, your new AI-powered LinkedIn experience — your trusted coach, advisor, co-pilot, assistant, and colleague combined — is your partner in staying ahead,” said Tomer Cohen, LinkedIn’s chief product officer in a blog.

LinkedIn’s AI algorithms will analyse users’ feeds – from comments to articles and conversations – to suggest ‘ideas’ on how the information can be helpful. The Microsoft-owned platform will leverage Bing search to offer timely and comprehensive information to keep the users updated. User may ask questions about a trending topic and LinkedIn will provide response in the form of expert articles and discussions, both from LinkedIn and across the web.

LinkedIn is also announced that it is making it easier for job seekers to assess if a particular job is a good fit and help bag it, all with the help of AI. It may be noted that in July, app researcher Nima Owji on Twitter wrote that LinkedIn is working on an AI coach that will help job aspirants apply for jobs, upskill themselves, explore ways to expand their professional network. The new tool called “AI Coach” will reportedly help aspirants find and apply for jobs more efficiently,  he had mentioned.

To be sure, this is not the first time LinkedIn is rolling out AI-based features. In June, LinkedIn unveiled a new AI feature that generates a first draft for users after they share at least 30 words describing what they want to say. Also, the platform introduced an AI-generated Copy Suggestions tool that uses generative AI to create high-performing intro text and headlines for ad creative professionals by leveraging data from an advertiser's LinkedIn Page.
