Cisco partners with Nvidia to offer AI-based meeting solutions
IT networking firm Cisco has announced a partnership with Nvidia to deliver artificial intelligence-powered meetings for workers working in hybrid mode. Under this collaboration, Cisco has introduced a new integrated collaboration solution Room Kit EQX and expanded Cinematic Meetings capabilities, both using the Nvidia AI engine. The integration of Cisco’s hardware conference room operating system RoomOS, and Nvidia capabilities will help Cisco deliver 20 times more AI effectiveness than previous generations, according to a company statement.
“In order for people to want to come to the office, companies must fundamentally reimagine and reconfigure workspaces to provide seamless and immersive collaboration experience,” said Jeetu Patel, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Cisco Security and Collaboration. “Our collaboration with Nvidia helps make this possible as we expand our portfolio of AI-powered solutions that unlock the potential of hybrid workers.”
The Room Kit EQX solution offers advantages like simplified deployment and maintenance, advanced audiovisual capabilities, interoperability across platforms, and unified management and security.
Cisco adopts the concept of Distance Zero, which means reducing the impact of distance and creating an experience that makes all meeting attendees feel like they are in a room using its Cinematic Meetings capabilities. These capabilities leverage an Nvidia Jetson system-on-module to deliver collaboration experiences. With the new enhancements, Cisco is introducing new immersive workspace setups and hybrid presentations.
On Wednesday, Cisco-owned web conferencing platform Webex announced Webex AI Assistance for increased productivity and accuracy. It will be embedded across Webex portfolio — The Webex Suite, Cisco Collaboration devices, Webex Contact Center, Webex Connect, and Webex Control Hub.
In September, Cisco Systems announced the acquisition of cybersecurity company Splunk for about $28 billion, in its biggest acquisition ever that it said would “bolster its network security business”.
"Combined, Cisco and Splunk will become one of the world's largest software companies and will accelerate Cisco's business transformation to more recurring revenue," the companies said in a joint statement.
