SAP launches generative AI copilot Joule
Enterprise software provider SAP has launched its generative artificial intelligence copilot. Called Joule, this copilot will build on SA’s business data across the portfolio and third-party sources to answer queries in plain language. Joule will be integrated across SAP applications including human resources, finance, supply chain, procurement, and customer experience.
Joule will available with SAP SuccessFactors solutions and the SAP Start site later this year. It will be introduced in SAP S/4HANA Cloud (public edition in early next year, followed by SAP Customer Experience, SAP Ariba solutions, and SAP Business Technology Platform, the company announced.
“With almost 300 million enterprise users around the world working regularly with cloud solutions from SAP, Joule has the power to redefine the way businesses – and the people who power them – work,” said Christian Klein, CEO and member of the Executive Board of SAP SE. “Joule draws on SAP’s unique position at the nexus of business and technology and builds on our relevant, reliable, responsible approach to Business AI. Joule will know what you mean, not just what you say.”
Earlier this month, SAP Labs India, a subsidiary of the German software corporation said that it will double its AI talent base in the country by 2024, to infuse its portfolio with AI capabilities that meet the demand of an evolving business landscape.
SAP’s largest R&D centre globally, the Bengaluru-headquartered hub has emerged as a critical location for the company’s AI transformation, enabling its half a million customers worldwide with Business AI, the company said in a statement. SAP in India currently employs around 15,000 people.
SAP AI is built in the systems that power the customers’ most critical business processes and works alongside their users, discovering exceptional insights and efficiencies, making them more knowledgeable and valuable to their business, the statement said.
