Spotlight: CXO movement this week (Aug 12 - Aug 18)

The week (August 12-18) saw several CXO movements in the tech industry with some of the major appointments in key business positions. Companies like Hinduja Global, Barco, Kotak Securities, Zoo Media, Berger Paints and Sharekhan, among others, made important new appointments in technology leadership positions. Here’s the roundup:

Mukesh Rathi joins Hinduja Group as chief digital officer
Hinduja Group, a diversified conglomerate with subsidiaries such as Ashok Leyland, IndusInd Bank and Hinduja Technologies, among others, has appointed Mukesh Rathi as its chief digital officer. Rathi, who comes with over 24 years of industry experience, has joined Hinduja Group from Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories where he worked as chief digital and information officer. At the Hinduja Group, Rathi will be responsible for building robust digital transformation roadmaps for group companies while steering the conglomerate towards a commanding presence in the digital economy. Kotak Securities appoints Girish Dixit as its CISO
Girish Dixit has been appointed as chief information security officer (CISO) and executive vice president at stock broking company Kotak Securities. Dixit has over two decades of experience and expertise in the field of cybersecurity and information security, especially in the banking and financial sector. Prior to joining Kotak Securities, he worked at HDFC Bank as head of cyber defense, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the bank's cybersecurity strategies. Before that he worked at executive director - CISO India Branch at JPMorgan Chase & Co., contributing to the enhancement of security measures within the organization. (Read more)

Barco elevates tech veteran Rajeeva Lochan Sharma to India MD
Belgium-based technology firm, Barco which develops networked visualisation solutions for the entertainment, enterprise, and healthcare markets promoted Rajeeva Lochan Sharma as the managing director of Barco India. Sharma, who has over two decades of professional experience in technology and business side, succeeds Rajiv Bhalla who decided to move on from Barco after successfully growing the India footprint for the company over a period of seven years. Zoo Media appoints Akhilesh Sabharwal as its new chief technology officer
Zoo Media, a global independent network agency, has appointed Akhilesh Sabharwal as its new CTO. Sabharwal will lead the merging of marketing and creative technology, emphasizing new technologies in both local and international markets. He will report directly to Suveer Bajaj, the Co-Founder of Zoo Media. Prior to joining Zoo Media, Sabharwal worked as the Senior Vice President and Head of Technology at Fulcro, a Digital Marketing Agency, where he played a crucial part in driving innovation and engaging customers through technology. Partha Protim Mondal promoted to CIO at Berger Paints India
 Partha Protim Mondal has been promoted to chief information officer at Berger Paints India. Before this, he was vice president and head - information technology at the same company. Mondal has over 24 years of dedicated and outstanding techno-functional expertise on enterprise oracle applications and related technologies. Earlier, he was associated with Atul Ltd, Sanmina SCI Technology India, SA Technologies, JSoft Solutions, iGATE Global Solutions, Mahindra Satyam, Tata Cummins Limited and Scooters India. 

Sharekhan appoints Amit Jaokar as its new CISO 
Amit Jaokar has been appointed as Chief Information Security Officer at Sharekhan by BNPParibas. He has extensive knowhow in areas such as in cloud computing, mobility, virtualization, innovation, digitization and information security. Prior to this, he was Chief Digital Officer & Chief Information Security Officer at NKGSB BANK. He was earlier associated with Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd, Choice International Limited, CD Equisearch Pvt Ltd, Keynote Capitals Limited, First Global, Bonanza Portfolio, Bombay Stock Exchange and Sify.
