SaaS company Boomi appoints Sean Wechter as chief information officer
Boomi, a US-based software as a service (SaaS) company, on Wednesday, announced the appointment of Sean Wechter as Chief Information Officer (CIO). A seasoned IT executive, Wechter will be overseeing Boomi’s critical IT infrastructure, security, data science, and enterprise systems.
Boomi has a strong presence in India, with offices in Hyderabad, Bangalore and other cities. In March 2023, the SaaS company opened a new office in Bengaluru, India and also said it is looking to more than double its technical staff in India in the next 12 months.
Boomi has also partnered with Bengaluru-based talent firms focused on software engineering, quality, and DevOps, working closely with Boomi product and engineering teams. Its Hyderabad office also employs team members in a range of operational roles, including engineering, customer support, accounting, human resources, and more.
Wechter brings more than 20 years of expertise across a variety of product and IT functions, including support of engineering, security initiatives, network/IT infrastructure, and applications.
Most recently, he served as CIO at Benefitfocus, where he leveraged cloud technologies to lead the Information Technology and Data organisation. Prior to Benefitfocus, Wechter served as CIO at Qlik, and led award-winning technical transformations at PwC, Xfinity, Dell, and Gartner.
Wechter holds an MBA in Management from Bentley College, and a Bachelor of Science from Clarkson University. He is a certified Six Sigma green belt, certified Java programmer, and holds a US patent for a fraud detection system.
In June, the company announced the appointment of Megan Barbier as Chief Human Resources Officer, responsible for value creation through building and executing the company’s global human capital strategy.
Globally, Boomi operates in over 70 countries and a growing community of more than 100,000 members; and one of the largest arrays of GSIs in the iPaaS space.
The company also boasts a network of partners, including global companies like Accenture, Deloitte, SAP, and Snowflake; and works with the largest hyperscaler cloud service providers, including Amazon Web Services, Google, and Microsoft, among others.
