TCS wins multi-year contract to transform BBC's finance and payroll functions
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has partnered with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) to modernise its finance and payroll functions.
In this long-term collaboration, TCS will utilise its AI-driven suite, TCS Cognix, to enhance efficiency and decision-making, the company said in a statement.
According to the company, the focus will be on managing different processes in finance operations and the application estate, aiming for improved agility.
TCS Cognix is a suite powered by artificial intelligence that enables collaboration between humans and machines. Its purpose is to accelerate digital transformation within enterprises, offering pre-built solutions in line with TCS' Machine First Delivery Model.
As part of the collaboration, TCS will provide the BBC with application management and change delivery services for their finance, procurement, and HR functions. A new partner payroll platform will also be deployed, integrating analytics to streamline the payroll process.
Moreover, TCS will manage various strategic and transactional finance-related operations, integrating digital technologies to enhance efficiency and process outcomes.
In addition to application management, TCS will collaborate with BBC to implement its unified operations model, which combines unified operations mode and business processes for improved problem diagnosis.
“We are pleased to be selected by the BBC as their partner to transform their finance and payroll function. TCS’ digital capabilities and domain expertise will help them achieve their business objectives while building greater agility and resilience in their operations,” said Amit Kapur, Country Head, UK and Ireland, TCS.
TCS has been making significant strides in the UK's public sector. On June 21, the company signed a deal with the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) to extend its outsourcing services for another ten years, valued at around £840m. TCS has been working with NEST since 2011, when the UK government introduced the auto-enrolment pension scheme. Since then, TCS has efficiently managed the entire administration of the scheme, introducing a new user-friendly approach with multiple self-service channels.
On June 5, TCS secured another major contract in the public sector. The UK's Department for Education awarded the company a 10-year contract to handle the pensions of over two million teachers. This contract also involves a digital transformation aspect. TCS won the contract from Capita, which had previously managed the service for over two decades. These developments highlight TCS' growing influence and success in the UK's public sector.
