Aster DM Healthcare appoints Sreeni Venugopal as India CIO and CISO

Aster DM Healthcare has appointed Sreeni Venugopal as the India Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). In his new role, Venugopal will be in charge of leading the company's technology strategy and overseeing its information security initiatives.   

Venugopal, formerly the Group CIO at KIMSHEALTH, held a prominent position within the executive management team. In his previous role, he was responsible for providing technology leadership, shaping the global IT strategy, and overseeing end-to-end IT delivery. With full control over the technology portfolio, he led the advancement and execution of the IT strategy, emphasising health IT solutions that prioritise the needs of the customers.   

His portfolio includes IT Applications, Projects, Infrastructure, Operations, IoT, Cloud, Business/Data Analytics, SAP, and medical devices. He was also in charge of enterprise-wide information security and data privacy programs, directing the formulation of strategy, procedures, and guidelines.   

Venugopal brings to his new position extensive experience in healthcare IT and cybersecurity. As CIO and CISO, he will be responsible for supervising digital transformation initiatives and ensuring that the organisation has strong information security practices.  

Venugopal brings an array of experience to the table, with 28 years of global expertise in technology leadership, information security & privacy, digital transformation, cyber laws & contracts, IT strategy, and IT service delivery. He possesses CISM and CEH certifications and has hands-on experience spanning the entire cybersecurity spectrum.
