Former Meta executive David Zakkam joins Uber as Director of Data Science

Former Data Science Director of Meta David Zakkam has taken on a new position at Uber Technologies.   
 
In a LinkedIn  post, Zakkam said that he is joining Uber as the new Data Science Director. In the new role, he will be responsible for overseeing the company's Mobility and Delivery divisions in Bangalore.

As the Data Science Director, Zakkam will be responsible for Uber's data science efforts, he will work to develop and deploy new technologies aimed at enhancing the quality of the company's products and services. 

Talking about his new role, he said, “I will lead a talented team in India with global responsibilities. Joining Uber, a pioneering tech company at the forefront of the mobility and delivery revolution, aligns perfectly with my passion for data-driven decision-making and driving impactful change. I firmly believe that data science has the power to transform industries, and Uber's commitment to leveraging data to create better transportation experiences resonates deeply with me.” 

Former Data Science Director of Meta, Zakkam, revealed some weeks back via LinkedIn that he will be departing from the company after over a year of service. Zakkam shared that he has been offered an exciting opportunity at another major global tech company.

Zakkam has previously held positions at Swiggy and Mu Sigma. At Swiggy, he served as the Vice President and Head of Analytics. Prior to that, he worked at Mu Sigma. A young consultant has made waves in the industry by working with 23 companies across nine different verticals. He has successfully led analytics teams of over 450 individuals and managed senior client relationships in both Europe and the United States. He is a graduate of IIT Delhi (2001) and IIM Calcutta (2006).
