Security has always been treated as a blocker—albeit a critical one—but it slowed computing to ensure security protocols were in place. Now that companies are making much greater commitments to modernizing their tech through moving to the cloud and reimagining their infra build and are reevaluating their approach to security.

The pertinent questions arise. How are organizations incorporating concepts like "Security as Code" and adopting DevSecOps practices to enhance their security measures? How can they mitigate the evolving threat posture and build a more resilient approach?

The video series “Accelerate with 4th Gen Intel Xeon Processors”, in collaboration with Intel and TechCircle is the answer to the same. In Episode 2 titled “Workload Management and Security: The Perfect Pair,” Sangeeta Roy, Director - Software & Services Partner Business, Sales and Marketing Group, Intel India sits down with Bhavesh Goswami, Founder & CEO of Cloudthat to discuss key security challenges faced by organizations and ways to mitigate them.

Bhavesh Goswami raises the question that nearly all organizations have now transitioned to the cloud, enterprise data centers, or on-edge solutions. As a result, security has become an essential component of the digital transformation journey. What are the primary challenges facing security in today's landscape? Upon which, Sangeeta Roy responds by stating that organizations encounter the challenge of striking a balance between security and compliance while also maintaining agility.

According to her, the existing security measures such as disk protection for data at rest and network encryption for data in transit do not provide sufficient safeguards for data actively used in memory and processors. When data is outside of storage and network environments, it remains vulnerable. Thus, the most significant gap lies in data protection.

Sangeeta Roy also shares some exciting breakthroughs. By leveraging 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Processors, businesses can now exclude their sensitive data from analytics and AI models, creating access-restricted data enclaves. These secure environments empower organizations to extract immense value from their data while preserving its confidentiality. 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Processors are also bringing infrastructure, security and automation together to help customers realize their business outcomes and help them be successful.
