Equinix launches digital interconnection services for organizations in India
Data center company Equinix is rolling out its digital interconnection services for enterprises in India. These services will enable organizations in India to establish on demand data center-to-data center network connections within a city or even between global locations with software-defined interconnection.
Equinix’s digital interconnection services include Equinix Fabric, Equinix Internet Exchange, and Equinix Internet Access.
Equinix Fabric allows organizations to connect to cloud, network, other service providers and also to their customers, vendors and partners.
Equinix Internet Exchange service enables networks, content providers, and large enterprises to exchange internet traffic and expand operations, while Equinix Internet Access provides internet access in Equinix International Business Exchange (IBX) data centers across more than 50 markets globally.
Additionally, with Equinix Fabric, businesses in India can also interconnect with companies deployed in more than 245 data centers around the world, and access international markets.
“Enterprises are increasingly using on-demand interconnection provided by data center providers to connect with multiple cloud service providers, network service providers and other businesses. In addition, pay-per-use has become a preferred model in this rapidly changing business world,” said Manoj Paul, managing director, Equinix India.
He added that Equinix’s services will help enterprises in India meet these requirements and reach customers in new markets.
Equinix entered India in September 2021 after acquiring the India operations of GPX Global Systems, which includes two data centre facilities in Mumbai. In June 2022, the company also announced that it will invest $86 million to build another data centre facility in Mumbai and invest over $64 million for its first data centre in Chennai.
