Axis Bank appoints Manjunath Kashi as SVP and head IT infrastructure

India's third largest private sector bank Axis Bank appointed Manjunath Kashi as senior vice president (VP) and head of information technology (IT) infrastructure. He joins from National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) where he served as SVP- IT, where he joined in May 2020. 

Kashi is an industry veteran with over three decades of experience in information technology and services and has diverse experience in technology and leadership roles. He specialises in areas such as software-as-a-service (SaaS) engineering, cloud design and engineering, cloud automation and orchestration, DevOps, application migration, and cloud operations, he mentioned in his LinkedIn profile. 

Kashi started his career as manager of technical support with enterprise resource planning (ERP) company Ramco Systems in the mid-1990s and then moved to American digital electronics manufacturer’s India division, overseeing its large accounts and ISPs.  

He has also worked with Cisco Systems India as principle consultant where he was responsible for pre-sales and solutions delivery for Marquee IT Software development accounts and in IBM as general manager at IBM Global Services India, several IT projects and initiatives. He joined VMware as senior director - information technology overseeing the company’s cloud computing and virtualisation offerings.

Kashi also had a five-year stint at Unisys Corporation where he was the Director - Global Managed Network Services and also led enterprise computing. 

In November 2019, he joined AI-powered guided selling platform Aviso as Chief Technology Officer, where he led the global engineering team and was responsible for product engineering of Aviso AI Sales forecasting SaaS offering to global clients. 

As per several recommendation on his LinkedIn profile from other senior executives, Karthik Babu, Director, Product at Unisys mentioned Kashi as “a strong leader and visionary with a hands-on management style, successful at building and managing high-performance teams”. He brings “enthusiasm, passion and warmth at work and would always be instrumental in the growth of business and individuals”, he said. 

Vijay Kumar Puttaswamy, Director - Security Risk and Corporate Compliance at VMware also praised Kashi’s leadership and mentoring skills, stating that he is “someone who you can turn to for answers, results and guidance”. His oversight on the information security and business continuity programs ensured that Unisys (India) grew its information security and management (ISM) capabilities.  

Kashi has completed his bachelor’s in engineering (B.E) in electronics and communication from Gulbarga University in Karnataka.
