Spotlight: CXO movements this week (April 22-28)
The week (April 22-28) saw several CXO movements in the global and Indian tech industry. IT industry's apex trade body Nasscom has announced its new executive council for 2023-24, led by Anant Maheshwari, president of Microsoft India who was appointed the council’s chairperson. American semiconductor company Analog Devices has named a new chief technology officer. Also, Microsoft-owned open-source software platform GitHub welcomed a new chief operating officer this week. Nasscom appoints Microsoft India President Anant Maheshwari as Chairperson
Nasscom announced the appointment of Anant Maheshwari, president of Microsoft India as its chairperson for 2023-24. Maheshwari takes on the new role from his previous role as vice chairperson. He has succeeded Krishnan Ramanujam, president, business and technology at Tata Consultancy Services. Nasscom also announced the appointment of Rajesh Nambiar, chairman and managing director, Cognizant India as its Vice Chairperson for the same time frame. (Read more)
Analog Devices names former AMD exec Alan Lee as CTO
American semiconductor company Analog Devices has named Alan Lee as its chief technology officer. Previously, Lee was working with semiconductor firm Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) for over a decade, where he most recently served as head of research and advanced development. While there, his teams developed novel hardware, software, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing technologies and were responsible for many innovations and patents over the past decade. Cyber experts Raphael Warren, Siva Sivasubramanian join TAC Security's board
US-based cybersecurity firm TAC Security has appointed cyber security leaders Raphael Warren and Siva Sivasubramanian to its board. Warren, a former US Army Brigadier General, is considered a highly accomplished cybersecurity expert with extensive experience in managing security and identifying trends in the industry. Sivasubramanian is a cybersecurity professional, who previously served as the Global Chief of Security for Airtel and CISO at Optus in Australia. (Read more)
GitHub announces Kyle Daigle as Chief Operating Officer
Microsoft-owned open-source software platform GitHub announced Kyle Daigle as Chief Operating Officer (COO), the company’s first since 2021. Daigle is currently VP, Strategy and Chief of Staff to the CEO, working closely with CEO Thomas Dohmke. He will oversee GitHub's work to scale the company as it turns to a remote-first approach. GitHub now has more than 3,000 employees. The open-source developer platform has reached 100 million members globally, and is growing fast in India too where it has crossed 10 million developers on the platform. This makes India the second largest developer community on GitHub, behind the US.
Medikabazaar appoints Vishal Chaturvedi as its new CTO
Business-to-business (B2B) online medical marketplace, Medikabazaar, has appointed Vishal Chaturvedi as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Chaturvedi completed Bachelor of Technology in computer science and electronics from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee and pursued an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He was previously associated with companies such as Samsung, Amazon, British Telecom, Reliance Jio and most recently with online trucking platform BlackBuck.
