Finolex Cables appoints Ashok Tiwari as chief information officer
Pune-based Finolex Cables Limited, a manufacturer of electrical and telecommunication cables, has appointed Ashok Tiwari as its chief information officer (CIO). In his new role, Tiwari will be managing the company’s overall information technology (IT) strategy.
Tiwari’s appointment comes at a time when the company is expanding manufacturing capacities at its plants in Pune, Goa and Roorkee across its product portfolio, which includes communication cables, solar cables, wire harnessing cables for automotive and the construction segment.
According to a statement by the company released earlier this week, Finolex Cables is investing ₹200 crore in the next few months to expand capacity at its Urse plant in Pune.
The company has also entered the solar power cables business, which also has applications in electric vehicles (EVs), high-speed trains and data centres and has procured specialised radiation technology equipment for manufacturing solar cables using controlled electron e-beam technology. The company is further expanding the optic fibre line, it said.
Tiwari, who has over 25 years of experience in technology strategy and leadership joins from Genus Innovation Limited where he served as head of IT. He also worked with Sequent Scientific, Varroc Lighting Systems, Jubilant Life Sciences, Usha Martin and Madhya Pradesh Iron & Steel in various technology and management roles.
Tiwari has pursued a bachelor's degree in computer science from Punjab Technical University and completed master of computer applications (MCA), information technology from Punjab Technical University. He has also received multiple awards for excellence in technology leadership and innovation.
