Trellix appoints Ash Parikh as its new CMO
US-based cybersecurity company Trellix has appointed Ash Parikh to the role of chief marketing officer (CMO). In his new role, Parikh will lead the company’s global marketing teams to drive brand awareness, demand generation, and go-to-market strategies of their XDR (extended detection and response) business. XDR is an approach to threat detection and response that provides holistic protection of email, endpoint, server, cloud workload) against cyber-attacks. Parikh joined Trellix from Druva, a SaaS vendor for data protection and cybersecurity, where he served as the CMO.
The security vendor that was formed in 2021 by merging McAfee Enterprise and FireEye XDR business, said in a statement that Parikh will report directly to Bryan Palma, chief executive officer at Trellix. Palma said that Parikh’s unique experience at the intersection of SaaS, cybersecurity, and data management perfectly positions him for leading Trellix’s XDR, which is used a huge customer base of the company.
Parikh has over three-decades of experience in leading teams, with 20 years of scaling enterprise software organisations at both late-stage private and mid-size public companies. Prior to Druva, he spent over a decade leading the marketing organisation in various roles at Informatica. He is a member of the board of advisors for US-based database company Yellowbrick Data and the CMO Council and has received several recognitions. Parikh, who pursued business administration and management from Adelphi University, New York will be based in the Bay Area, US.
“Since the pandemic, marketing has been disrupted… and it takes a deep understanding of the customers’ journey, an ability to leverage the latest digital technology, and a dedication to sales and marketing alignment to drive meaningful engagement with customers,” said Parikh.
Over the last six months, Trellix has appointed a number of global heads to lead its various business units. In September 2022, the California-based company appointed Kim Anstett as its new chief information officer (CIO) to head the overall execution of technology strategy to drive efficiency, flexibility and innovation across the business.
In November 2022, Trellix appointed Sam Henderson as managing director of channels and alliances business for its Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) market.
In March 2023, it appointed cybersecurity veteran Joseph Tal to the role of senior vice president for the Trellix Advanced Research Center and general manager for Trellix Israel. The new research unit was set up in September last year to help customers detect, respond and remediate real-time cybersecurity threats.
On April 11, Trellix had elevated Mahipal Nair to the role of managing director for its India office. He joined the company in 2022 as the vice president and Head of Human Resources for India and Asia Pacific Japan (APJ) region.
