HPE announces hybrid cloud data services through HPE GreenLake
Global edge-to-cloud company Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced new file and block services. The new offerings will leverage HPE’s cloud-native infrastructure Alletra Storage MP for users to get enterprise-grade performance and mission-critical storage. The new file and block storage offerings will be available through HPE GreenLake platform.
“The new HPE GreenLake data services and expanded HPE Alletra innovations make it easier and more economical to manage multiple types of data, storage protocols, and workloads, allowing customers to focus on accelerating innovation and driving business results,” said Tom Black, executive vice president and general manager, HPE Storage.
The HPE Alletra Storage MP supports a disaggregated infrastructure with multiple protocols. It means that users will be able to leverage a single, unified cloud platform to deploy, manage, and orchestrate data and storage services, irrespective of workload and storage protocol. This will also allow users to scale out infrastructure on the same hardware in the future in a cost-effective manner, the company said.
“The latest HPE GreenLake cloud services for storage help to solve data lifecycle challenges for our customers by radically simplifying data management, accelerating the performance of their most data-intensive apps, and seamlessly integrating data protection across their hybrid cloud,” said Kamal Kashyap, Director- Data services & Storage, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, India.
The new file storage service leverages HPE GreenLake cloud experience and VAST Data software, which is further designed for exabyte scale. Further, the HPE GreenLake for Block Storage will offer performance and scalability of mission-critical storage with mid-range economics.
In addition, HPE has also introduced new disaster, backup, and recovery services. HPE GreenLake for File Storage and HPE GreenLake for Block Storage can now be ordered, while HPE GreenLake for Disaster Recovery is orderable in June 2023. HPE GreenLake for Backup and Recovery is generally available.
