Salesforce has announced that it will be integrating with Google Merchant Center to further assist retailers in displaying their in-store inventory to customers.

According to Google, 95% of all US holiday shoppers had conducted online research prior to visiting a store to make purchases in 2022. Furthermore, the company revealed that 72% of Americans prefer to buy at places where they can see if an item is currently in stock before making a purchase.

By easing local inventory sharing with Google Merchant Center, the Google connection with Commerce Cloud will help retailers access new audiences across free and paid Google surfaces, the company said.

Consumers using Commerce Cloud can quickly and simply convert inventory data into free and paid local product listings across Google's many platforms (including Search, the Shopping tab, Google Maps, and more).

By displaying up-to-date product information like availability and pricing, the Google connection boosts local product visibility and increases shoppers to stores.

Michael Affronti, GM, Commerce Cloud said, “Salesforce’s integration with Google extends this power, helping merchants reach new customers and unlock new revenue by showing them the precise products they’re looking for in real time. With Google and Commerce Cloud, they are driving awareness of new store locations, diverting foot traffic from competitors, and increasing store visits.”
