Dr. Lal PathLabs taps Kyndryl to manage IT infrastructure

Dr. Lal PathLabs Limited, a pathology diagnostic provider in India with over 250 laboratories and 4,500 sample collection points across the country, has partnered with IT infrastructure services provider Kyndryl to manage its IT infrastructure stack.  

Kyndryl will manage the diagnostic provider’s entire IT infrastructure portfolio including both the on-premises IT environment and cloud infrastructure across multiple hyperscaler cloud service providers, the company said in a statement. 

“Post onboarding, Kyndryl will manage the multiple cloud platforms that play a key role in Dr Lal PathLabs’ digital transformation initiatives to drive business growth,” it added.  

Kyndryl provides a single pane view of server utilisation, service requests, ticketing lifecycle, incident analysis, and also recommends proactive remediation. The IT company said in a statement that the unified view of their infrastructure utilisation on-premises and across multiple public cloud environments has already helped Dr. Lal PathLabs reduce IT incidents by a substantial margin.  

Further, the service availability uptime enabled Dr. Lal PathLabs to focus on enhancing customer satisfaction and reducing call centre workload spikes by a double-digit percentage, the statement said without mentioning specific growth figure. 

Kyndryl has also integrated compliance checks such as inventory management, patching, and security health, which have helped achieve continuous compliance within the laboratory’s cloud environment and security posture. 

Dr. Lal PathLab’s partnership with Kyndryl goes back to 2020, when during the Covid19 pandemic, the diagnostic centre relied on the latter’s technology expertise to make critical changes in its cloud infrastructure on an almost daily basis to fulfil modifications to control the spread of the virus.
