Chegg CEO appointed to upGrad’s board of directors
Edtech company upGrad announced that Dan Rosensweig would be joining the company's board of directors. Rosensweig is the president and chief executive officer at the student learning platform Chegg.
“I am excited to be joining upGrad’s Board of Directors as there has never been a better time to provide accessible and flexible higher education and skills training to learners around the world. By working in partnership with key universities and major technology enterprises, particularly in India, upGrad can help transform the workplace of tomorrow,” said Rosensweig.
As an independent non-executive director on upGrad’s board, Rosensweig would be joining current senior representatives from Singapore-based investor Temasek and International Finance Corporation (IFC). He also serves on the board of Adobe and is a senior advisor to TPG Growth Ventures and Kleiner Perkins.
Further, Ronnie Screwvala, co-founder and chairperson of upGrad said, “Dan brings with him a powerful global overview of this sector which in turn, shall continue to cement our corporate governance as we march ahead in our mission of disrupting the future of jobs and careers of tomorrow.”
Last year in November, the learning and skilling platform appointed Anuj Vishwakarma as the president of its online higher education programs. The ex-Myntra and Ola executive is responsible for building the online higher education vertical and scaling the business.
Founded in 2015, upGrad became a unicorn in August 2021 after raising $185 million from Temasek, International Finance Corporation, and IIFL and reported a valuation of $1.2 billion valuation.
