Aerospace company Boeing has announced the final cohort of entrepreneurs and students who will be supported for over six months by the company to develop their ideas into market-ready solutions. Seven out of 70 shortlisted teams were announced winners of the Boeing University Innovation Leadership Development (BUILD) program 2022-23, today. Each of the winning teams has also received ₹10 lakh cash prize. BUILD is a platform for young entrepreneurs and students to present ideas that can be converted into viable business solutions.

The seven winning teams are: SpaceFields Pvt. Ltd. from the Society for Innovation and Development (SID) — Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru; HEM Dimensions from SID — IISC Bengaluru; Scavengex from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Incubation Cell; CeraTattva InnoTech from IIT Madras Incubation Cell; Modulo EV from the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) — IIT Delhi; SAP AEROSPACE from FIIT — IIT Delhi; and Galanto Innovations from IIT Gandhinagar Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (IIEC).

Applicants were invited to submit ideas in fields of mobility, space, connectivity, enterprise digital solutions, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. More than 1,600 students and entrepreneurs submitted over 800 ideas. Following an evaluation process, 70 teams were shortlisted for the regional boot camp. The finalists received mentorship from start-up ecosystem experts, incubator partners, and Boeing engineers to incubate ideas. They also received access to Boeing’s innovation ecosystem. 

Apart from BUILD, Boeing hosts several other programs for nurturing talent, especially in the aerospace domain. Some of the prominent ones include the HorizonX India Innovation Challenge, the Accelerated Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Apprenticeship, and National Aeromodelling Competition with IIT.
