Persistent Systems to tap Microsoft’s cloud, analytics for employees, enterprises
Indian IT firm Persistent Systems has announced plans to use a bunch of Microsoft’s cloud, machine learning (ML), and analytics-driven platforms to support remote workers and enable tech modernisation initiatives of its enterprise customers.
The firm said that it will use Microsoft's Viva platform’s advanced analytics to understand what employees want, so it can improve real-time engagement with them along with their experience. Viva is an integrated employee experience platform designed to improve employee well-being and productivity. Its customers include Paypal and Cricket Australia.
The shift to flexible work models after Covid-19 has led to a shift in employee expectations from their workplace and the companies they are working for. It has pushed the attrition rate at several IT firms to over 20% last year.
Persistent further said that it is building a data platform that uses Azure Cloud Data Lake in collaboration with Microsoft. Azure Data Lake is a scalable data storage and analytics service.
The IT firm said that it will improve its business functions and give them access to ML-based operational dashboards which can help them visualise and optimise business outcomes. The firm is planning to take this cloud data lake insights to its enterprise customers.
“The collaboration will enable both companies to build newer capabilities for the cloud-native and the AI-first world,” Sangita Singh, general manager, IT & ITES at Microsoft India, said in a statement.
Persistent has been working with Microsoft for a while and has a dedicated Microsoft business unit. The firm’s Patient Care NXT platform for the healthcare and pharma sector is built on Microsoft Cloud and leverages Dynamics 365 and Power Platform as well.
Sandeep Kalra, chief executive officer and executive director of Persistent, pointed out that the partnership with Microsoft has enabled them to develop innovative solutions to serve the technology needs of their enterprise customers and expand their footprint in the industry.

Persistent is a mid-tier IT services firm with over 22,000 employees. It a revenue of $255.6 million in Q2 FY2023, growing at 40.2% year-on-year (YoY). Its key services include CX transformation, intelligent automation, app development, and cloud infrastructure.
