IFA Berlin 2022: Bendable TVs, soundbar with TV stand, earbud case with touchscreen
Europe’s biggest consumer electronics show IFA or Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin is back as an in-person event after a two-year hiatus starting from September 2. The last two events were cancelled due to the Covid-19. Spread over five days, the event is attended by most of the big consumer tech companies. Samsung, LG, Tesla, and JBL are some of the companies that are expected to make a splash at the event with new product unveilings.
Here are some of the products that will be unveiled at IFA 2022:
Samsung’s gaming monitor that supports cloud gaming
Samsung has announced its first OLED gaming monitor called Odyssey OLED G8. It has a 34-inch display with a 175HZ refresh rate and a resolution of 3,440x1,440p. It is also the first monitor that has Samsung’s Gaming hub in-built to allow gamers to access cloud gaming services such as Nvidia GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Google Stadia without having to connect to a laptop or console. It will also allow users to stream movies and TV shows directly from Netflix and Amazon Prime.
LG’s bendable OLED TV
LG has got an OLED TV with a bendable 42-inch screen, which can be used either as a curved screen for an immersive gaming experience or as a flat screen for watching movies. It also allows users to shrink the size of the screen to 32-inch or 27-inch in case one doesn’t want to use the entire screen for gaming. The TV is named LG OLED Flex LX3 and users can switch between the two modes with the press of a dedicated button on the TV remote. The TV supports Dolby Vision at 4K resolution at 120Hz.
JBL earbuds with touchscreen charging case
JBL’s new Tour Pro 2 is one of the first wireless earbuds to offer a charging case with a touchscreen panel. It has a 1.45-inch LED screen that allows users to control music and settings while the earbuds are in use. The earbuds can also be used to see messages and social media notifications. The Tour Pro 2 supports Bluetooth 5.3LTE, has 10mm drivers, and can last up to 40 hours.
Tesla robot vacuum, QLED TVs, ACs
This year’s IFA will also see Tesla unveil automated robot cleaners with laser technology to scan and map its surroundings. The company is also expected to show a new lineup of QLED TVs. In consumer appliances, Tesla has a new lineup of refrigerators powered by its dual inverter technology that keeps energy consumption and noise levels under check.
Bang & Olufsen soundbar that is also a TV stand

Dubbed Beosound Theatre Dolby Atmos, the new soundbar has a motorised TV stand that can be used to change the viewing angle of the TV with the press of a button.
