WhatsApp may soon let users to hide 'last seen' status for particular contacts
After announcing a series of new features, with the latest one that allows 32 people to connect in a group voice call, WhatsApp is now working on a new feature for its users that allows them to hide their “last seen” status from selected contacts, says a new report by wabetainfo.com.
The feature is currently being tested on the Beta version for iOS operating system only, the reports said. However, the company is yet to reveal details such as the timeline for these privacy settings’ launch across all users on Android and iOS platforms.
“Some weeks ago, WhatsApp has released the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.8.9 update, which brings advanced settings to manage last seen, about, profile photo to more Android beta testers. Today, WhatsApp is rolling out the same feature to some beta users that install the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.9.0.70 update from TestFlight!,” the report said..
“If you open WhatsApp Settings > Account > Privacy > Last Seen / Profile Photo / About, you might find a new option called “My Contacts Except…” this option lets you exclude some people from seeing your information on WhatsApp. This feature has been rolled out to some beta testers today, and it may be available to more users after 24 hours, WABetaInfo further added.
Until now, app users could only select from ‘Everyone’, ‘My Contacts’, and ‘Nobody for this privacy feature.
