Samsung rolls out Galaxy S8 series tablets in India
Samsung has rolled out the Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets in India which it had unveiled during the ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event on February 9. The device will be available in three variants — Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+ and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra.
While Galaxy Tab S8 and Tab S8+ are available in the 8GB+128GB storage variant, Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will be there in the 12GB+256GB storage variant and all the three models offer expandable storage by up to 1TB with an optional microSD7 card, Samsung said in a statement.
The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is available in Graphite colour while Galaxy Tab S8 and S8+ will come in Graphite, Silver and Pink Gold shades. The base version Galaxy Tab S8 is priced at ₹58,999 for Wi-Fi variant and ₹70,999 for 5G variant, the mid-range S8+ is priced at ₹74,999 for Wi-Fi variant and ₹87,999 for 5G variant, the top-end variant S8 Ultra costs ₹108,999 for the Wi-Fi variant and ₹122,999 for 5G variant.
Buyers can pre-book the devices from February 22 to 10 March by visiting the official site of the company. The products will be available from Samsung.com and all Samsung authorised partners.

Coming in different screen sizes, Tab S8 Ultra comes with a 14.6-inch screen, the Tab S8+ has a 12.4-inch display and the Tab S8 features an 11-inch screen. All three tablets run on Samsung One UI 4.1 version based on the Android 12 operating system.
The S8 series tablets will be equipped with a 4nm chipset, which the company claims is the fastest processor ever in a Galaxy Tabs and which will result in lag-free gaming, improved multitasking, etc. Powered by an ‘all-day battery’, the company claims that the Galaxy Tab S8 series will support multiple hours of video playback and as well as 45W super-fast chargers.
Samsung has also partnered with Google for enhanced video calling and live sharing experience for users with Google Duo. This series will also support Wi-Fi 6E. It is also offered with Stylus ‘S-Pen’ that uses a prediction algorithm for low latency thus delivering an incredible writing experience, as claimed by the company.
The tablet shipments in India grew by 31% year-on-year (YoY) in (October-December) Q4 2021, it went up by 4% for calendar year (CY) 2021, as per market research firm CyberMedia Research (CMR) quarterly report. The same report claimed that Samsung was the fourth leading brand in Q4 21 with a 12% market share, down from 31% a year ago. Its annual shipments also declined from 30% in 2020 to 18% in 2021.
