Check Point claims its new data centre firewall delivers 20 times better performance than competition

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. has introduced Quantum Lightspeed Firewalls, which it claims is the biggest network security revolution in the last decade. Firewalls are primarily used to prevent malware and network-based attack and ‘Quantum Lightspeed Firewalls’ is the name Checkpoint uses for its firewall product.

The company also affirmed that the newly added solution in its Quantum portfolio sets the standard in data centre firewall security, delivering 20 times better security price performance than competing solutions. Quantum Lightspeed hyper-fast firewalls also deliver 5 times the security throughput, scales up to 3 Tbps (TeraBytes Per Second) per system (800Gbps { GigaBytes per Second} per single gateway), while delivering 3 microseconds of ultra-low latency, as per its official site.   

The company’s goal is to design a solution that would work in the most demanding data centres which require high security throughput, claimed Dorit Dor, Chief Product Officer at Check Point.
