Google rolls out Nest Hub 2nd Generation in India
Google India has launched the new generation version of its smart display Nest Hub for Rs 7,999. This all-new device by Google is being built using ‘recycled materials’ with its enclosure (consists of fabric, housing, foot and a few small parts) being made from 54% recycled plastic.
The device also gets multi-room-control for grouping multiple cast-enabled devices such as speakers, Smart Displays, Chromecasts on Nest Hub. Available in chalk and charcoal colours, the Nest Hub 2nd Generation will be retailed at Flipkart, Tata Cliq, and Reliance Digital, etc.
While the second gen Nest Hub’s speaker is based on the same audio technology as Nest Audio, the company claims it has 50% more bass than the original Nest Hub (1st gen) and is now offered with an additional microphone. Due to privacy reasons, Google has decided not to incorporate cameras into the Nest Hub 2 (just like the previous version). The product comes with a physical sliding button to switch off the microphone. The device is offered with support for various music apps including YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, Gaana JioSavvn, etc.
Google India also revealed that the all-new Nest Hub has a floating glass display to facilitate an enhanced viewing experience. Furthermore, the product’s sensors are capable of understanding the light conditions of the room and automatically adjust the temperature of colours on the screen thus ensuring they are not too bright or dim, as claimed by Google.
