Samsung foresees growth in its bottomline and topline during Q4 2021
Samsung has stated that it is foreseeing a 23.5% growth in its turnover at 76 trillion won during Q4 of 2021. During the same quarter, it is also hoping for a 52.5% jump in its operating profit at 13.8 trillion won. For the entire year, the South Korean electronics giant logs over 279 trillion won in revenue, which is 17.8% more than 2020. During the same year, the company clocked nearly 51.57 trillion won in operating profit (based on the 4th quarter guidance numbers).
While some analysts are claiming semiconductor business to be one of the growth drivers, some are also attributing the surge to unprecedented numbers garnered in the foldable smartphone space.
It was reported earlier that Samsung, which had shipped four times more foldable devices in 2021, saw its Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 foldable smartphones outselling the its total accumulative sales of foldable devices in 2020 and that too within the first month of their rollouts.
Faisal Kawoosa, Founder & Chief Analyst, Techarc had earlier said that with its 3rd generation of foldable Samsung has cracked the commercialisation of this form factor which is a style plus convenience device. “It’s addressing the desire of luxe segment users to differentiate distinctively as well as giving them convenience of convertibility to change screen size with the type of work/content being consumed,” Kawoosa had earlier told TechCircle.
