Gurukula Kangri joins hands with WazirX to offer free bilingual blockchain course
In an attempt to equip students with skillsets required to pursue job opportunities in emerging technologies, Gurukula Kangri University has announced its partnership with WazirX to provide a free course on ‘Blockchain’.
To be offered in Hindi and English languages, the introductory level ‘Certificate course on Blockchain and Crypto’ will be having 18 exclusive lessons in over 18 hours and anyone with basic internet knowledge can register, WazirX said in a statement.
Gurukula Kangri and WazirX are distributing the content through the research and analysis platform Blockchain Papers, in collaboration with Unlu classes. The Haridwar-based University claimed that the certification and recognition would enable today’s youth to actively pursue a career in the CryptoTech industry, which includes crypto applications in trading, P2P payments, remittances, and retail, which has been growing by 39% in the last five years in India.
“This Training will help India learn the next generation Financial Services and Fintech systems that are using exponential Technologies and Emerging Models like Blockchain, Crypto, Decentralised Finance (DeFi), Decentralised Autonomous Organisations (DAO, Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT), Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), Digital Assets, Tokenisation, Solidity Smart Contracts, Solidity, and RUST Programming Languages,” revealed course Mentor Sudin Baraokar, Global IT & Innovation Advisor.
The announcement comes close on the heels of Prime Minister Narendra Modi announcing the launch of a blockchain-based digital degree initiative at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur.
Sunil Kumar, Registrar, Gurukula Kangri, said, “This innovative collaboration between WazirX and our technology department will assist in inculcating the knowledge of this progressive field and help India’s future generation reap its benefits. With the course being free of charge under our #PadhegaDeshBadhegaDesh initiative, we have already received more than 10,000 digital registrations from the state of UP already.”
The university claimed that with the help of this course, youth will also be able to lead more start-ups in the crypto and blockchain field. It has also claimed that crores of crypto investors in the country will also benefit from this course and get an opportunity to learn the new technology that is transforming the world. As per the Nasscom report, the crypto industry in India is expected to create nearly 800,000 jobs by 2030.
