Chhattisgarh govt to provide construction permissions in just Rs 1 with AI-based system
The Chhattisgarh government has launched a new Artificial Intelligence-based direct building permit system, which it plans to implement at all municipal corporations of the state.
The state, in a release, said that the AI portal will provide building permission immediately for construction of residential plots upto 500 sq.mt., with a Rs 1 application fee.
The Portal was constructed in a time of 15 days, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said in a press conference on Monday. The process will do away with long wait times, and middlemen in the form of officials to get certain permissions.
The government claimed that the process will now be free from human intervention, provided all the documents for the construction are intact.
Departmental Minister Shivkumar Dahria said that the team discussed the problems related to the building permission systems, and built separate dashboards for engineers, commissioners and public representatives. The dashboards will contain daily applications received, permissions approved and pending cases.
“This process used to take a long time to complete, and used to reach many officials to get the map passed, after which the citizen got building permission to build the house. But now all this process will be free from human intervention and will be completed as soon as possible,” said Bhagel.
There will also be a provision for a high level review by SMS in case of cancellation of a building permit, along with full auditing of demanding documents. The government said that most government officials have already been trained on the new system.
