Glance garners 13 million additional users during Q3
With 13 million additional users in Q3 2021, the screen-zero content platform Glance has surpassed the user base of 163 million, according to Counterpoint Research’s Quarterly Mobile Application Tracker.
SoftBank Group-backed advertising tech unicorn’s active user base, which now consists of 30% of India’s smartphone users, grew by 8% QoQ in Q3 of 2021.
Glance is an artificial intelligence-based software company that is offered as a pre-installed application, which shows content and stories on the lock screen of various Android devices such as Xiaomi, Samsung, etc. The platform ensures engagement and stickiness by offering a wide variety of content, starting from interactive games and sports stories to news, fitness tips, trivia, and more.
Arushi Chawla, Research Analyst at Glance, said, “As per our estimates, about a billion smartphones will be sold in next five years in India, which brings a huge opportunity for a content platform to expand using Hardware as a Distribution (HaaD) model. Being a multi-lingual, pre-installed application in many leading smartphone OEMs, it serves as a gateway to the latest content for many first-time smartphone users.”
