Wipro looks to boost cloud space with acquisition of LeanSwift

Wipro said it has signed an agreement to acquire LeanSwift Solutions to strengthen its cloud service capabilities. 

LeanSwift is the system integrator of Infor Products whose service suite includes enterprise resource planning (ERP), e-commerce, supply chain,warehouse management systems, business intelligence and other software integrations.

“This acquisition will establish a strong, industry-focused Infor Practice that will help us win large deals in the cloud ERP space,” said Harish Dwarkanhalli, President – Applications and Data, iDEAS, Wipro. 

Wipro said that the acquisition will boost its cloud business through the company’s cloud suite ‘Fullstride Cloud Services’, particularly for Infor’s customers.   

It further said that the combined entity will provide an edge in key transformation deals in the manufacturing and distribution industry, through Infor’s CloudSuite and broader cloud-native solutions.   

“Infor is at the forefront of providing transformational micro-verticalized products and we are experiencing significant traction in this space,” said Deanna Gibbs Lanier, Senior Vice President, Strategy, Growth and Partnerships.   

The acquisition is expected to close before the quarter ending March 31st next year, subject to customary closing conditions.   

Wipro has been expanding its services across multiple cloud providers. On December 12, it announced to migrate its data for its Air cargo processes onto the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

On August 24 this year, the company announced that will open a delivery centre in Sherwood, Arkansas, and will hire about 400 employees for the new office space.
