Meta to host second edition of Fuel for India event on December 15
Meta (formerly Facebook), today, announced the second edition annual event Fuel for India. The event, which is used to showcase digital transformation stories from across India, is scheduled for December 15 this year. The company said that dignitaries from key government ministries, business leaders and Meta’s leadership, including chief executive Mark Zuckerberg and President of Metaverse Vishal Shah, will be at the event.
The line-up of speakers include Union Minister for Women and Child Development, Smriti Irani, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrashekhar, Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik, Meta chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg, Director and Head of Strategy of Reliance Jio Platforms Limited Akash Ambani, and more. Executives from the Central Board of Secondary Education )CBSE), MyGov and other bodies will also be present.

The event comes close on the heels of Meta’s first standalone office in India. The company opened the Center for Fuelling India’s New Economy (C-Fine) on December 9, which is a 130,000 square foot office in the National Capital Region’s Gurugram region. It said that it will provide training to 10 million small businesses and entrepreneurs and 250,000 creators in India in the next three years.
