Barco launches new RGB projectors in India

Barco, the Belgian technology company that sells digital projection and imaging products, has launched two new RGB laser projectors in the Indian market. 

Focusing on the entertainment segment, the XDM and XDX projectors offer Rec. 2020 colours, native 4K resolution. Barco said they are ideally suited for immersive destinations such as theme parks and planetariums, and can maintain high brightness levels while projecting content.  

In fact, the projectors come with a wide range of lens options including a total of fourteen high-brightness and five high-contrast variants with ratios ranging from an ultra-short throw 0.38:1 to a long throw 11:1. 

“Barco is the global visualization expert in both the cinema and live events industry and our new XDM and XDX projectors are built with the accumulated know-how of the demanding performance and service criteria for both these verticals,” Rajiv Bhalla, managing director, Barco India, said in a statement.

“The innovative RGB projectors keep in mind the priorities of location-based entertainment venue owners and operators while also ensuring splendid visuals for the audience,” he added.  

In addition, the new projectors also require minimal maintenance interventions and have a laser lifetime of up to 40,000 hours.  

While both products expand Barco’s effort in the entertainment segment, the company is also active in the enterprise (from meeting, classroom and control rooms to corporate spaces) and healthcare (from the radiology department to the operating room) sectors.  

In 2020, Barco realized sales worth 770 million euro.
